Yes. Compatible models can use utility power for AC bypass and battery charging. Connecting utility power as an input does not make the unit a grid-tied inverter, and electricity must not be exported from the inverter to the public grid.
When paired with a correctly sized battery and properly configured backup system, the inverter can supply compatible loads during a utility outage. Selected models specify a typical 10 ms transfer time between utility bypass and inverter output. Runtime depends on battery capacity and load.
Selected VolTrust models can power compatible loads from solar and utility input without a battery. A battery is still required for stored solar energy, nighttime off-grid operation and backup power when both solar and utility input are unavailable.
Selected VolTrust inverters support compatible 48V lithium and lead-acid battery systems. Confirm the battery voltage range, chemistry, charge and discharge current, BMS protocol and minimum battery capacity before installation.
BMS communication is recommended when the battery and inverter support a matching RS485 or CAN protocol. It helps coordinate charging, discharging and battery protection. If closed-loop communication is unavailable, all battery parameters must follow the battery manufacturer's requirements.
